I suspect the problem is caused by variations in spelling of the name, but that is common in that period. If you wanted to make these records unavailable, you couldnt have done a better job.
Easier to just download the file, then use Adobe Reader (which is free). With that one can search within a file for whatever one wants. Or download the

text version (though they aren't prrofed) and use Notepad or the like to search.

Good grief, what a mess. I agree with others that the site is pretty much unusable. Recommend you add some "how to use" instructions or rebuilt the site
